Clipboard says twenty cases, shelf holds nineteen

Ran the afternoon count on Thornhill Amber and came up one case short against the delivery slip. Checked the dock camera footage, checked the walk-in, checked under the register where someone once hid a sixer of sour.

Nothing.

The math

Manifest: 20 cases, signed for at 11:14 AM.
Shelf inventory: 19 cases, counted at 3:40 PM.
No damaged units logged, no samples pulled, no front-of-house purchases between those timestamps.

One case is just gone.

What probably happened

Driver miscounted at origin. We signed for a phantom. Happens more than it should — especially on Thursdays when the regional hub runs two routes back-to-back and the staging crew gets sloppy.

Or: we miscounted here. Also happens. I've been awake since 4:30 AM and numbers start looking like each other after lunch.

What I'm doing about it

Nothing, yet. Thornhill sits at 26 IBU with a biscuit-malt backbone that moves steadily but not fast enough to warrant an all-hands recount. If we're still short by Monday I'll file the variance report and let the distributor argue with their own paperwork.

Meanwhile the nineteen cases we do have are cold, stocked, and ready to walk. Amber's drinking well this week — clean finish, no off-notes, pairs with the weather.

If you bought case twenty, let me know. I'll update the log.
